More than 50 drivers are now applied to candidate rally for a place in next year's Latvian rally championship calendar. Among them there are rallysprint drivers, to whom ,,Alūksne 2012" is the first Latvian championship competition this year.
Last year's absolute winner - the crew of Jānis Vorobjovs/Guntars Zicāns has the first starting number (will start on N4 group driving Mitsubishi EVO X). The 2nd starting number is for Estonian pilot Raul Jeetsam, who has choose Alūksne's rally to try in competitions his new Mitsubishi EVO X. After him there is crew of Mārtiņš Svilis/Aivis Aizsilnieks (Mitsubishi EVO VIII, A+ group) with the third number. Among ASRT rally "Alūksne 2012" drivers there are also Aivis Egle/Andis Dauga (N4 group, Mitsubishi EVO X), Jānis Feldmanis/Anrijs Jesse (starting with R4 class Mitsubishi EVO X), Raimonds Kisiels/Arnis Ronis with Mitsubishi EVO IV.
Estonians Siim Plangi and Marek Sarap will definitely make competition to our country's drivers. After them there are Valts Zvaigzne/Mārtiņš Ozoliņš with the eight number, who will drive compete at A+ group driving Mitsubishi EVO IX.
As usual, Zintis Mezītis with VAZ and Viesturs Tilgass with Opel Ascona, who will compete in rallysprint test, will provide moments full of adrenalin.
Attractive Bergman brothers and the champions of year 2011. at 4 WD class - Edgars Enkurs/Ainars Jankovičs will be the first ones from the rallysprint drivers to start a race. Last year's rallysprint leaders in their group - Kasprs Brencis/Armands Ziemelis and other respectable drivers will also compete for high places.
On rally "Alūksne 2012" track for the first time we will see one of motoring development project's "Okartes Auto academy" green Ford Fiesta, which will be driven by Ralfs Sirmacis.
Not only awards prepared from organizers will be given. Electric company PIRTEL will give its special prize also - 1'000 EUR to the fastest single-axis drive crew, which will have participated in rally cup.
The best jumpers on the rump of ninth and last special stage will receive 3 surprise awards from "Vējkalni 1997"- for the most farthest, attractive and most highest jump.
Spectators will have a chance to watch competitions without admission fee, thanks to SIA ,4plus"- the supporter of rally "Alūksne 2012".
Rally "Alūksne 2012" will happen on 20.-21st January in Alūksne's district, organized by motoring club Alūksne in collaboration with Autostils and Autostils Rally Technical, as well as Alūksne county government.
