Estonians Siim Plangi / Marek Sarapuu win Rally Talsi in convincing fashion, the Champions Cup stays in Latvia
Rally Talsi, the fourth round of the Latvian Rally Championship, concluded on Sunday, May 17, with Estonians Plangi / Sarapuu claiming the victory. They were fastest on all five of Sunday’s stages and grabbed a dominating victory in LRČ2 group as well. Another Estonian crew – Roland Murakas / Kalle Adler – were second, 51.09 seconds behind the winners, and the third place on the podium went to Lithuanians Vytautas Švedas / Žilvinas Sakalauskas. In the battle of four champions, Latvians Jānis Vorobjovs / Andris Mālnieks came out on top, making sure the Champions Cup stays in Latvia this year.

Estonians Kaspar Koitla / Andres Ots in the lead after day one of Rally Talsi
May 16 saw the first day of Rally Talsi, the fourth round of the Latvian Rally Championship (LRČ). The day consisted of six stages, including the fan favourite – Talsi City Special. After doing 38.26 stage kilometres, Estonians Kaspar Koitla / Andres Ots are in the lead, but are only 0.43 seconds in front of their fellow countrymen Siim Plangi / Marek Sarapuu. Lithuanians Samsonas / Varža, who were the quickest on shakedown, are currently third overall.

Lithuanians Martynas Samsonas / Mindaugas Varža fastest on shakedown
15th May, the shakedown stage of Rally Talsi, the fourth round of the Latvian Rally Championship (LRČ), took place, with 39 of the 76 crews doing timed runs. Lithuanians Samsonas / Varža were the quickest, completing the 4.30 km gravel stage with a time of 2 minutes and 31.99 seconds. 2014 Champions Cup winners Švedas / Sakalauskas were 3.85 seconds behind, while the Talsi locals Hermanis / Veilands were third, 4.26 seconds behind the leader.

2014 Finnish rally champion Kaspar Koitla to begin his season in Talsi
This weekend, on May 16 and 17, Kaspar Koitla, the reigning Finnish rally champion, will begin his 2015 rally season in Talsi. His last event was in September, when he took part in the final round of the Finnish Rally Championship.

Estonians Siim Plangi / Marek Sarapuu to be first on road in Rally Talsi
Start list for Rally Talsi, the fourth round of the Latvian Rally Championship (LRC), was published today, with 78 crews taking part in the event. LRC2 group leaders, Estonians Siim Plangi and Marek Sarapuu, will be the first on road, having won all three previous rounds in their group. The winners of 2013 Rally Talsi Champions Cup, Dominykas Butvilas / Renatas Vaitkevičius, will be starting second, followed by the 2014 Latvian rally champions in N4 group, Jānis Vorobjovs / Andris Mālnieks.

Šlēgelmilhs/Pumpurs to compete in Rally Talsi for the third time, will represent Latvian travel movement “1836”
The well-known racing driver Haralds Šlēgelmilhs, together with his co-driver Artūrs Pumpurs, have registered to take part in their third Rally Talsi. They will be driving a Dynamic Sports prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX N4 class car, which will have a livery about a fund dedicated to celebrating the 100th anniversary of declaration of independence of Latvia – “1836”, which is something Haralds has been directly involved in.

Ivars Vasaraudzis returns to rally, will be co-driven by Oskars Bārtulis
Multiple time Latvian rally champion Ivars Vasaraudzis has registered for Rally Talsi, and will be competing in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV car. His co-driver for the May 16 and 17 event will be Latvian ice-hockey player Oskars Bārtulis.

25 Youngtimer cars to tackle Rally Talsi stages
On the first day of Rally Talsi, May 16, the Youngtimer Rally Championship will begin their summer season, with 25 historic cars taking part. Youngtimer cars will compete in a regularity rally spanning six stages. The start times are roughly two hours before the first rally cars begin the stages of Rally Talsi.

Champion Of Champions to be decided between four Crews
Rally Talsi, the fourth round of the Latvian Rally Championship, is set to take place on May 16 and 17, and, for the seventh time, will also host a battle for the Champions Cup. This year, four champions will try to step up to the challenge – Latvian rally champion Jānis Vorobjovs, Lithuanian rally champion Ramūnas Čapkauskas, Finnish rally champion Kaspar Koitla and the Belarusian rally champion Sergey Viazovich.

Finnish crew Olli Lavikainen / Joni Kohtaniemi to participate in Rally Talsi with a 1983 Volvo 240
Finnish driver Olli Lavikainen with co-driver Joni Kohtaniemi are also ready for their first start in Rally Talsi and will do that in a car that is very atypical for Latvian rallies – a 1983 Volvo 240. Rally Talsi Tickets now available
Starting today, it is possible to buy tickets to the Latvian Rally Championship event Rally Talsi or, as it is also known, the Rally of Champions. Until May 10, the ticket prices are 12.00 EUR, and will let fans see all the stages taking place on May 16 and 17, where rally drivers will battle for points in not only the Latvian, but Lithuanian and Northern European Zone championships as well.

Rally Talsi to open Latvian rally summer season
Today, the first Rally Talsi official document, Rally Guide 1, has been published, containing information about how the event will be run. Rally Talsi or, as it is alternatively known, Rally of Champions, will host the fourth event of the Latvian Rally Championship and take place from Saturday, May 16 to Sunday, May 17. It will also be a part of the Lithuanian Rally Championship (LARC), North European Zone (NEZ) Rally Championship and the NEZ Junior Championship, along with a regularity rally for Youngtimer class cars.
