The closing date for entries is on 22nd of August and the competitor list will be published on the official site of the rally in the seeded order.

There will be four classifications in rally “Kurzeme” this year – event 7 of Latvian Rally Championship, event 5 of Estonian Rally Championship, event 6 of Latvian Rally Sprint Championship and event 3 of Baltic Guest Rally cup.

„We believe that the races will be well attended. Many rally drivers from Baltic’s and also other countries approved their participation in rally „Kurzeme”, besides, many exciting surprises are being prepared of which we will inform very soon,” says Uldis Hmielevskis, the Director of the Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014”.

Reconnaissance will start on Thursday, 28th of August which will be followed by Shakedown in Kalvene parish, Aizpute municipality later in the evening from 18:00 – 22:00.

The rally will start on Friday, 29th of August at 15:15 with the opening ceremony and official start of the Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014” in Liepaja, Rozu square which will be followed by first special stage in Liepaja. The first day of the rally will end with special stages in Nica and Rucava municipality.

On Saturday, 30th of August, competitors will have to perform five special stages in Durbe, Priekule and Aizpute municipality which will be concluded with Liepaja city special stage.

During two days of the rally competitors will have to perform 110 kilometers in 11 special stages, while rally sprint competitors will race only on Saturday 30th of August and will perform 66 kilometers within 5 special stages.

Rally "Kurzeme" is the oldest rally in the Baltic States with richest traditions, and it is held in Liepāja since 1965. Liepāja has welcomed Latvian SSR and USSR championship events and, after the restoration of independence, Lithuanian, Estonian, and Russian championship events as well. For several years "Kurzeme" was deemed as well-organized cup of the European championship.

Since 2010, "Kurzeme" is not an ordinary rally – it is the Festival of Speed gathering the best rally drivers from Latvia and closest neighboring countries and participants from other motorsports, as well. This year, the program of the Festival of Speed will be enriched by the final cup of the Latvian Open Water Motorsports Championship of Powerboats, taking place directly in the center of Liepāja, as well as other motorsport activities.

Festival of Speed – rally "Kurzeme 2014" is organized in co-operation with "LDz Cargo", Liepāja city, Port of Liepāja, "VEGA 1", "Canon IBServiss", "Cēsu alus", "Ramirent", "LDC datortehnika", “IF Apdrošināšana”, official car Nissan from "Skandi Motors". Tickets can be purchased in advance in the cash registers of "Biļešu serviss", as well as in on-line sales points "Bilesuserviss.lv", "Piletilevi.ee", and "Bilietupasaulis.lt".
