Rally passes to FIA ERC opening event Rally Liepāja now available

Starting today, rally passes to the FIA European Rally Championship and Latvian Rally Championship winter event Rally Liepāja are available in select locations in Liepāja, Kuldīga, Saldus, Talsi and Rīga. They are priced at 18,00 EUR per pass until December 31. If bought on or after January 1, the price will be 25,00 EUR per pass. It is also possible to buy them on the official Latvian Rally Championship website at www.autorally.lv.

The available rally pass will let fans visit all the Rally Liepāja stages, taking place in Liepāja and Kuldīga regions from February 5 to 7. In addition to a pass, you will also receive a spectator safety leaflet, a lanyard and a rally sticker. During Rally Liepāja, it will be possible to buy a single stage ticket at the respective stage entrance, at a price of 12,00 EUR.

“It has now become a tradition to begin selling Rally Liepāja passes before Christmas in order to make the holiday shopping a bit easier for our most enthusiastic fans. With that in mind, it also makes sense for them to be sold a little cheaper until the end of the year, encouraging rally fans to use this as a gift, and spend a wonderful February weekend in Liepāja with their friends and family!

The fastest European drivers have, for the last three years, gladly taken on the challenge of the tricky Kurzeme region roads, battling for every last tenth of a second right until the finish line, making for a spectacular performance for the fans! A winter rally takes some preparation not only for the drivers, but for the spectators as well, but I’m certain that a lot of sports fans will come out for a fantastic rally weekend!” Rally Liepāja organiser, RA EVENTS directorRaimonds Strokšs encourages everyone to come to Liepāja and Kuldīga.

Rally Liepāja stages can be viewed for free by children up to ten years of age and people with disabilities, after showing a valid disability certificate to the officials at the entrance of the stage. Pensioners with a valid pensioner certificate will be able to get a 10% discount on prices at tourism information centres in Liepāja, Kuldīga, Talsi and Saldus.

Rally Liepāja rally passes are now available at these locations:

- Liepāja Olympic Centre on Brīvības iela 39, Liepāja
- Liepāja region Tourism information centre on Rožu laukums 5/6, Liepāja
- Kuldīga Tourism information centre on Baznīcas iela 5, Kuldīga

2016 will be the fourth year in a row with Rally Liepāja as part of the FIA European Rally Championship. In the first three years, the Latvian event was second in the calendar, but, with Austria not being included this season, the Kurzeme region based rally will have the honor to open the sixty-fourth season of the FIA European Rally Championship. Past winners in Latvia are Finns Jari Ketomaa (2013, Ford Fiesta RRC) and Esapekka Lappi (2014, Škoda Fabia R5), while this year’s event was won by Irishman Craig Breen (Peugeot 208 T16 R5), co-driven by Scott Martin from Great Britain. Continuing the tradition, Breen’s Peugeot 208 T16 will be used in all the next year’s Rally Liepāja visual materials. Motto for 2016 – “This Winter Rocks”, which is a reference to both the new concert hall Lielais Dzintars and the long musical traditions of Liepāja.
