Mārtiņš Sesks: “We are happy to announce our participation in Latvian round of the FIA European Rally Championship with a top-tier Rally2 machinery. It is both, an opportunity to prove over own pace and move up the standings ladder, as well as test whether the wins we achieved competing within ERC Open category are a true indicator, when it comes to competing against drivers like Hayden Paddon and Efren Llarena. Our huge gratitude goes to MRF for their tyre support, as well as to Sports Racing Technologies (SRT) for cooperation we just engaged in. It will be a great adventure!”

This will not be the first time Mārtiņš Sesks will sit behind the wheel of the top-tier Rally2 (previously R5) group car. Back in 2018, Sesks sealed the 2018 FIA European Junior Rally Championship title in the U27 category and was awarded two prize drives in an all-wheel-drive Škoda Fabia R5. Sesks used his prize drive in 2019, making his debut in the most powerful car at his home event around Liepāja, competing with alongside former co-driver Krišjānis Caune and scoring a mighty third in overall classification.

Ahead of the home rally, Sesks / Francis will conduct a multi-day pre-event tests, to allow the crew to demonstrate the best possible performance at the wheel of SRT-run Škoda Fabia Rally 2 evo.

So far in 2022, Liepāja-native crew has started in three of four rounds of the European Championship, dominating the ERC Open category with Proracing-run Škoda Fabia Rally2-Kit car. After Tet Rally Liepāja, there are three more events of the 2022 FIA European Rally Championship for the crew to complete.

Round of the 2022 FIA European Rally Championship event Tet Rally Liepāja is possible thanks to the support provided by the Ministry of Education and Science, rally city Liepāja, as well as our partner Talsi region.
