In order to limit the spread of Covid-19 and aid in maintaining social distancing, there have been some changes to the Rally Liepāja programme – there will be no opening ceremony and autograph session, which typically gathers large crowds. Even though they were planned initially, there will be no special stages in rally cities of Liepāja and Talsi. There will also be no public awards ceremony, with the winners being awarded individually, so as to decrease the chance of gathering among competitors as well. The changes will impact one more area of Rally Liepāja – the service park, which will be open only for accredited personnel and not spectators.
“Even though the spread of Covid-19 in Latvia and globally has not been stopped, we are thrilled that the current epidemiologic situation has made it possible for us to host this European level event, making it possible for the fans to spend a weekend outdoors in Talsi and Liepāja, enjoying the rally. All of us will have to live with some additional restrictions, which will impact everyone involved in Rally Liepāja, but it is important that Rally Liepāja can take place and do so with the presence of spectators.
To make sure that we meet the Latvian regulation of not having more than 3000 people attending our event, we have limited the number of tickets available for the event, with less than two thousand tickets remaining on sale. For that reason, I would encourage everyone to make a decision on attending the event in a timely fashion, to avoid a situation where you want to go to the event but the tickets have already sold out.
Most importantly, I would like to ask all spectators of Rally Liepāja to be responsible and be a part of making this a safe event, by following the personal hygiene, not crowding in one area, maintaining a two metre distance from others, including from the competitors. Use the opportunities provided by this event being outdoors – find a safe place to watch the event. Of course, this does not mean that typical rally rules are no longer in place – those have not changed and need to be met to have a secure event for everyone. Let us have a safe event together, with everyone maintaining social distancing!” says Rally Liepāja director Raimonds Strokšs.
We would like to remind spectators that this year it will not be possible to buy tickets at the entrance of the special stages, so you should make sure to get them in advance at one of the Biļešu Serviss locations in Latvia or online. Also, before heading out to the stages, make sure to visit one of the ticket exchange points, where you can exchange your Biļešu Serviss bought ticket for a wristband. You will not be allowed to enter a stage without a Rally Liepāja wristband.

A ticket to all Rally Liepāja special stages, taking place on August 15 and 16 in the route from Talsi to Liepāja, currently costs 20 EUR, but that will increase to 30 EUR on the week of the event, starting from August 10.
For the first time in Rally Liepāja, a single day ticket is also available, making it possible to attend special stages in either the Talsi region on Saturday on the Liepāja region on Sunday. This one-day ticket costs 15 EUR.
