Several leading Latvian drivers have already applied for participation in rally "Alūksne 2012" - Jānis Vorobjovs, Aivis Egle, Jānis Feldmanis, Mārtiņš Silvis, Raimonds Kisiels.
Estonian pilot Rauls Jeets will test his new Mitsubishi EVO X exactly in Alūksne. Other Estonian, Russian and Lithuanian crews have showed interest about competitions, too.
Since rally "Alūksne" is Latvian Rallysprint Championship 2012. year's season 1st stage as well, all active rallysprint drivers will race also.
Rally will start on Friday, 20th January at 20:00 o'clock, at the Latgale's street, across the market in the centre of Alūksne, when the ceremonial start will be given. After that rally participants and spectators will be welcomed to rally season opening party, in club "Ideja" where band "Z-Scars" will start its 2012 year's tour.
Next day, at 21st January, the battle for rallysprint drivers will happen in 6 special stages, but rally drivers will have to race in 9 special stages, from which 3 will happen at the dark hours of day.
After the rally finish, the winners of competitions will be awarded in the club of Alūksne - "Ideja", at Latgales street 2a.
Not only awards prepared from organizers will be given. Electric company PIRTEL will give its special prize also - 1'000 EUR to the fastest single-axis drive crew, which will have participated in rally cup.
Crew of the best jump at 9th special stage's ramp will get a surprise award from "Vējkalni 1997".
We remind that spectators will have a chance to watch competitions without admission fee, thanks to „4plus”.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation in rally is monday, 16th January and athletes are invited to use a chance and enjoy season's first winter rally. Snow depth in Alūksne is 25cm at the moment already.
Special stage's maps and most interesting spots for spectators will be published at the beginning of nest week at site www.4rati.lv and at the magazine "Auto Euro".
