Rally "Sarma" Director Vilhelms Sniedzāns acknowledges: "Postponing the rally is a difficult decision, as everyone in the Gulbene region has been preparing for the original dates. This change means additional work and expenses for all involved. We encourage everyone to keep their fingers crossed for the return of cold weather so that we can celebrate the rally’s 50th anniversary together. The last thing we want is to face the painful decision we had to make in 2014 and 2020 when we had to cancel the rally entirely due to unfavorable weather conditions.

We must act responsibly—we cannot hold the rally on unfrozen roads, as they are a crucial part of the infrastructure for local residents and businesses. Some long-term forecasts now indicate the return of winter, and we are very hopeful that we will be able to meet all rally participants and spectators in mid-February."

For rally participants who have already registered for Rally "Sarma" 2025, no action is required if they agree to compete on the new dates. Their entries will automatically be transferred to the rescheduled event.
