The long-term collaboration with “Pirelli” distributor in the Baltic states “Black&Round”, which started in 2023, will last until the end of the 2025 season. As part of the collaboration, not only a fixed and affordable rally tire price is provided for the crews of the Latvian Rally Championship, but also a high-quality tire delivery and assembly service during the rally – significantly facilitating the work of the crew’s personnel during the rallies.
During the season, crews that start the competition with "Pirelli" rally tires in accordance with the rules will receive points for the Latvian Rally Championship. Thus, at each round, the fastest crew in the absolute standings of the Latvian Rally Championship and the fastest LRC Junior crew will receive a special prize – a new set of "Pirelli" tires, which is a great support for the future growth of crews, especially “juniors”. If in 2023 special prizes were awarded only at gravel surface rallies, then in 2024 special prizes will be up for grabs also at winter rallies as well. As part of the collaboration between the Latvian Rally Championship and "Pirelli", a prize fund with a total value of 20,000 euros is provided for the crews.
Looking back at the fastest crews of 2023, the most tires were won by the winner of the LRC1 group, a Norwegian with a license issued by the Latvian Automobile Federation, Karl Peder Nordstrand, who won the "Pirelli" special prize in the rallysprint "Vecpils", rally "Cēsis", and "Humus Paide Rally". Meanwhile, during the "Tet Rally Liepāja", which featured two rounds of the Latvian Rally Championship during a single weekend, the crew of Pole Hubert Laskowski scored a back-to-back victory and two new sets of tires. As the only Latvian crew, Emīls Blūms with Didzis Eglītis earned the "Pirelli" special prize in the "Samsonas Rally Utena".
Meanwhile, among the "juniors" apart from the already mentioned Nordstrand (the Norwegian won one round of the doubleheader event "Tet Rally Liepāja"), the "Pirelli" special prize in Vecpils was won by Estonian Karl-Markus Sei, in Liepāja it was accomplished by Italian Valentino Ledda, and in Cēsis by another Italian junior Giovanni Trentin. In the final rounds of the season in Paide (Estonia) and Utena (Lithuania), the "Pirelli" special prizes were received by Estonian drivers – Jaspar Vaher and Oskar Männamets.
During the 2023 season of the Latvian Rally Championship, 8 crews received the "Pirelli" special prizes, to whom a total of 44 rally tires were awarded.
It is worth mentioning that, according to the 2024 season regulations, for winter rallies crews of the Latvian Rally Championship can choose between 185/65R15 WJ and 205/65R15 J1 "Pirelli" tires, equipped with 7mm long studs. Meanwhile, for gravel rallies the crews must choose between 175/70R15, 185/70R15, and 195/70R15 "Pirelli" rally tires with a K6 hardness level.
