

On 15th and 16th May in Talsi the Competition „BTA Rally Talsi” will be held, which traditionally after the winter break opens the motorsports summer season in Latvia. The Rally in Talsi is a very popular event gathering the best sportsmen from Latvia and abroad.
For the second year already, owing to the general sponsor the Insurance Company „BTA”, the title of this rally is „BTA Rally Talsi”, moreover for the second year in a row this rally is organized by the Association „RA Motosport” under the management of the well-known sportsman Raimonds Strokšs. Last year in the sections of the „BTA Rally Talsi” five actual N4 class champions from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and United Kingdom competed. Also this year the organisers promise to gather the fastest local and foreign drivers to ensure that this competition becomes a real rally of champions again. The competition „BTA Rally Talsi 2010” will be not only the 3rd stage of the Latvian Rally Championship, but also the first stage of the newly established Baltic Rally Championship.
The Rally will be held for two days on 15th and 16th My in Talsi and Talsi neighborhood.
The formal opening of the Rally is envisaged on 15th May at 15.30, but the start of the first car is planned at 16.38. During the first day of the Competition the sportsmen will manage four stages. At first two gravel stages PS1 and PS2 will be covered, and the first day will be concluded with two super-special stages “BTA Show” held in the parallel track with an asphalt cover and an artificial launch pad.
The competition of the 16th May will be established after the final regrouping of the first competition day. During the second day five gravel sections are envisaged. The start of the first section of the day is planned at 9.55. The rally finish and the awarding ceremony in the Sauleskalns Open-air Stage will be held on the Sunday afternoon.

As in the previous year the organizers of “BTA Rally Talsi” are planning the Rally in a way to ensure that spectators can attend as much sections as possible. From nine sections it will be possible to attend seven without any rush.
As for the second year already the rally conception is changed and it has become an event for the whole family, the organizers are paying major attention to the recreation possibilities outside the rally track — during both rally days the spectators will be able to participate in different shows and recreation activities organized in the Talsi centre.
After completion of the sections of the first day all rally spectators are welcomed to attend the Sauleskalns Open-air Stage to enjoy the special open-air programme of the band “Dzelzs vilks”. The rally finish and the awarding ceremony is envisaged on the Sunday afternoon in the Sauleskalns Open-air Stage.
